A GIFT ( the power of gratitude)

The people who gave me lollipop moments in my life are numerous and i would name here 2 of them. One is my teacher and other is my cousin.

I always wanted to express my feelings to her how grateful and lucky i am to be her student but due to shyness, i never able to.

This fellowship has given me a platform to thank and realize the importance of thanks giving.

This feeling was somewhere suppressed in my heart and now is the perfect time. I have many beautiful memories with her. From the way she said, ‘ye to meri beti ha’ to her tight hugs and whenever i come hometown from the university, she made sure that i meet her and leaving me with lots of prayers and blessings. I still have a fresh recollection of all the moments. She was my Quran teacher and still she is my teacher in all aspects of life whether it is spiritual or emotional. She has guided me and given me pieces of information which i think my mother was hesitant to tell me. I have not spent the moments but i have lived the moments.

The pencil i drew here has a meaning because my teacher used to gift me a pen on my results.

The 2nd person whom i admire is my cousin. She is truly amalgam of sweet, sour and bitter personality. She knows very well where she has to be strict and where just her kindness be put. The very first time i came to know her closely was in MCAT when i left my home for the preparation and lived in my phupho’s home. She was making an effort to make me happy because i was far away from home. I do have respect and appreciation for her efforts. She was doing all my works in which university should i apply and where to go then making a call to universities to gain information and then visiting them. Now i realized by this activity i never thanked her but it’s never too late to start.

I felt it was my responsibility to continuously appreciate all the people and all the things that has been given to me.

‘’Gratitude is when memory is stored in the heart and not in the mind.’’
